"Yellow Chrysanthemum"

This is more a three day painting. Apart from unscheduled interruptions it is larger and obviously takes more time. I am also experimenting with the brushstrokes with more colour blocking and following form less.

"Buskers on the South Bank"

I was hoping to get out into the spring sunshine and paint but a knee injury has prvented this. I took this picture outside Tate Modern Art Gallery last summer, the River Thames provided the backdrop.

"Red Barn with Horse", Sussex 7th April 2007

Yesterday I set out from Brighton, Sussex to paint a picture of the South Downs. I found a beautiful view but unfortunately the farmer refused permission to use his land so, undetered I set up a few feet away on the highway and painted his barn instead! The horse on the right obligingly turned up in the last few minuites. I see from other blogs that red barns are a bit of a cliche' in the USA, I'm not sure that is the case in England, perhaps I 've never noticed them before.

"Daffodils" April 6th 2007

I love the spring and of all flowers daffodils are my favorite. This the third and smallest painting I have done of them in the last week. The vase is very old and belonged to my grandmother. I remembered her fondly as I painted it.
